MERGE
art   community  space

MERGE art and community space is an informal institution located in a historic storefront.  MERGE aims to function as a venue for art and cultural projects. 

We are interested in collaborating with artists and creatives of every type to produce non-commercial and commercial projects and foster new ideas for creative engagement. We believe in creating a sustainable, diverse and uplifting community together.

This space stems from an interest to create an informal  place in which people can merge, combining various aspects of the Silver City community and contemporary visual arts. 

​

Contact MERGE with ideas for collaborations and concepts; of special interest are ideas focused on the environment, partnerships with local organizations, bringing to light unique aspects of this community and surrounding lands.

MERGE is situated on the lands of Chiricahua Apache Nde Nation, we acknowledge sovereignty and are committed to building relationship and promoting reconciliation. 

 ABOUT:  Linda L Chappel

As an artist recently relocated from Tucson, it is great to be in Silver City where I have spent time over the years doing artists workshops, residencies and showing at the WNMU and Silver City Museum.

After years working within the structures of higher education, grant awards and  non-profits the intention of MERGE is to work in collaboration with artists and creatives in and unbounded space, experimenting and creating. I see this as a on-going project rather than a traditional gallery.
