Is this an Art Gallery ?
Yes we focus on contemporary visual arts but our interests are wide. We’re most interested in the community, the environment locally and globally. We focus on art but we are open to intersections between different fields of knowledge. MERGE functions as a storefront and venue for art and community projects.
Are You a Non-profit? How do you pay for this?
No, we do not have 501c. status, instead the aim to create a sustainable space and assist artists in earning a living through collaborations. Artists who show here can sell their art, collect funds, hold workshop or other events. We are open to contributions in talents, time and monetary donations to support the space. Trade, exchanges and any other ideas on how to support each other are welcome.
Can I show my art at MERGE?
Yes, please see "About" section for our interests in collaborations, write an email and let's see what we can work out! If you believe that what you do fits into our program feel free to send us an email describing what you do with links to some kind of documentation – images, your website, etc.
Please note that we are not a retail business set up to sell other artists painting, drawing, photography etc.
How to you select your artists and programing?
MERGE is about collaborations and supporting artists with ideas that will add to our community. We started MERGE with the idea to collaborate and work with artists, ideas and projects we are interested in, which is wide ranging. But mainly out interests circle around the environment, creative responses to the world and positive change. Most everything that is presented by MERGE is something that we are researching, inspired by, or otherwise excited about learning more about.
Do you have volunteers or Interns?
We are interested in both, if you feel you would like to contribute to the space or work at the space as an intern please contact us!
